    What You’ll Do

    • Serve as legal counsel to planning commissions, city councils, and public bodies
    • Advise clients on compliance with the Brown Act, Public Records Act, and Political Reform Act
    • Draft ordinances, resolutions, and development agreements

    • Provide practical legal guidance during public meetings
    • Collaborate with city leaders and stakeholders to craft effective policy solutions

    What You Bring

    • Experience serving as counsel to public boards or commissions
    • Solid grounding in municipal law, land use, zoning, and environmental compliance
    • Strong communication and advisory skills in fast-paced public settings
    • Active California Bar membership
    • Ability to attend in-person meetings in the Citrus Heights/Sacramento region

    Compensation & Benefits

    Salary:

    • Junior Role: $140,000–$165,000
    • Senior Role: $165,000–$180,000
    • Bonuses: Discretionary, based on writing, land use, or election law expertise

    Benefits:

    • Health & vision insurance (Kaiser or Anthem) with employer contribution
    • 100% employer-paid dental insurance
    • $50,000 life insurance policy
    • 401(k) with profit-sharing potential
    • Generous PTO: 80 hours per year (120 after five years)
    • 48 hours of sick leave annually
    • Bereavement and jury duty leave

    Work Environment

    • Hybrid schedule with a mix of office, remote, and on-site municipal work
    • Low billable hour expectations for genuine work-life balance
    • Collaborative, collegial culture—many attorneys have built lifelong careers here
    • Regular firm-sponsored events and community-focused team spirit

If you’re ready to take on a visible municipal advisory role with a clear path toward City Attorney, this is your chance to grow in a supportive, balanced environment.
