Associate Attorney – Personal Injury WeierLaw, The Law Offices of Steven D. Weier, Inc., P.S., is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our growing personal injury practice. This position is well suited for an attorney who wants to strengthen their skills in litigation, negotiation, client communication, legal analysis, and case strategy while working within a collaborative and supportive team. For more than 30 years, WeierLaw has represented injured individuals throughout Washington. Our attorneys work closely with experienced paralegals, negotiators, demand writers, and administrative support staff to move cases forward efficiently without compromising the quality of care provided to each client. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, sound professional judgment, attention to detail, personal accountability, and a genuine desire to learn, improve, and grow as an attorney. Responsibilities: Responsibilities will vary based on the selected attorney’s experience, skill set, and professional development plan. Duties may include: Manage assigned personal injury cases as they transition into litigation. Handle Settlement Guardian ad Litem matters from appointment through completion. Prepare, review, and file SGAL reports, declarations, proposed orders, and related court documents. Attend and present at minor settlement approval hearings. Communicate with clients, parents or guardians, court personnel, attorneys, and other involved parties to finalize settlements involving minors. Ensure that minor settlement proceeds are properly addressed, including compliance with blocked-account requirements, court approval procedures, and supporting documentation. Appear at hearings, motion calendars, status conferences, settlement approval hearings, and other court proceedings as assigned. Handle motor vehicle infraction matters, including citation review, client counseling, negotiations, written submissions, and court appearances when necessary. Assist with pre-litigation personal injury matters, including liability analysis, insurance coverage evaluation, medical treatment review, demand analysis, settlement strategy, and client communication. Communicate with insurance adjusters, defense counsel, medical providers, clients, and other parties to move cases toward resolution. Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, negotiators, demand writers, and support staff to ensure cases are handled efficiently, accurately, and with a high level of client care. Qualifications: • Must be an active member in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association. • Ability to handle client communication professionally, clearly, and compassionately. • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills. • Comfortable appearing in court and handling hearings independently when appropriate. • Organized and able to manage deadlines, case tasks, and competing priorities. Compensation: $75,000 - $150,000 yearly
