The Law Office of Hakimi & Shahriari is a fast-growing, boutique law firm located in Encino, California, with a sophisticated and unique practice. The firm's focus is aggressive, plaintiff litigation in the areas of class action, civil rights, personal injury and product liability. This is a team environment, where all cooperate to achieve common goals and interests. This hire will work primarily in the firm's plaintiff's side, civil rights practice group.

The Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of litigation from filing pleadings to discovery and motion practice and trial. The litigation associate is expected to be a self-starter that will manage their own case load, but there will be training and supervision.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Draft pleadings
• Draft and respond to written discovery
• Take and defend depositions
• Draft and argue motions (i.e. motion to compel, motion for summary judgment, motion in limine etc.)
• Attend miscellaneous court hearings
• First chair at trial

Requirements A minimum of 0-2 years of litigation experience

• Member in good standing of the California state bar
• Some familiarity with California state and federal court preferred

Compensation

The company will offer a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity. There are generous quarterly, performance based bonuses and a year-end bonus.
