Wiete Law Office LLC has an immediate opening for an Attorney. The Attorney will be a crucial member of this growing boutique law firm. We are committed to providing clients with strategic legal guidance so they can navigate court and move forward. This is a full-time, on-site position. Ideal candidates will meet the qualifications listed below. Responsibilities: Client Intake • Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients to evaluate what services the firm may be able to provide for them • Make a positive impression on prospective clients during initial consultations • Sell prospective clients on the value of the services the firm provides • Collaborate with the firm’s Legal Assistant on the intake of new clients Client Relationships • Communicate with clients by phone, email, and in-person meetings with honesty, compassion, and responsiveness • Answer clients’ questions • Communicate case analysis and case strategy to clients • Communicate all settlement proposals to clients • Communicate all billing concerns to clients • Ask clients for positive Google reviews Litigation • Prepare a case analysis for each case, with few exceptions • Decide upon a case strategy for every case • Draft necessary pleadings • Draft motions when necessary to implement case strategy • Draft and send discovery requests when necessary to implement case strategy • Collaborate with clients to respond to discovery requests or court-ordered discovery • Gather information and evidence from clients • Prepare notes for all court appearances • Prepare testimony and exhibits for all evidentiary hearings • Prepare clients for all court appearances • Attend all court appearances with clients • Engage in informal settlement negotiations including proposals sent by email, in-office settlement conferences, or phone calls • Engage in formal settlement negotiations including mediations or pretrials Billing • Record all time for all tasks that you perform for every case • Perform a monthly review of each case’s billing rate and the tasks that have been recorded • Collaborate with the firm’s Paralegal on sending invoices and Trust Requests • Withdraw from cases if clients have overdue bills Professional Development • Complete the required amount of CLE • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including CLEs, mentorship, bar association events, writing educational articles, or preparing educational presentations Business Development • Create and improve document templates • Create and improve business processes • Participate in team meetings and performance reviews Qualifications: • Shares our core values of honesty, compassion, and responsiveness • Admitted to the Ohio bar • Admission to practice in other states is a plus • Proficiency with legal practice management software and legal CRM software (Clio Manage and Clio Grow) • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe • A commitment to organized record-keeping • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, paralegals, and court staff • Comfort with task agility (ability to pivot between tasks when urgency requires) • Reliable timeliness • Excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skills • Experience practicing family law is a plus Compensation: $65,000 - $100,000 yearly
