JOB OVERVIEW

 We are currently hiring for a beautician/barber that has a desire and the heart to empower resident’s lives with purpose and confidence. Join our skilled nursing care team and be a part of an award winning, “Great Employers” organization. As a beautician/barber at Auburn Homes & Services, you will use your compassion and skills to provide haircuts, blowouts, beard shave and/or trim and hair permanents for our residents in a cozy salon setting.

Auburn Homes and Services will provide beautician, barber, and grooming services in compliance with Minnesota laws and rules regarding the practice of cosmetology, including manicuring and esthetician services (MN Statute 155A and Minnesota Rules 2105 and 2110).

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Cut and style hair, beard shave/trim and provide “permanents” for the residents of our long term care facility.
• Competently perform all related functions of a licensed beautician/barber.
• Provide compassionate, respectful and skilled care to our residents.
• Understands/supports the Resident Bill of Rights.
• Follows Federal and state of Minnesota rules and regulations governing nursing facilities.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Individual licenses are current and in the licensee’s current legal name.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with staff and residents.
• Beauticians and barbers are independent contractors and must have a current and posted manager’s license.
• Pay the required licensing fee(s) for operation of a beauty/barber shop according to the requirements of this state’s governing body.
• The salon’s liability insurance specifically covers any independent contractors.  A copy of the liability insurance coverage will be on file in in the administrator’s office.
• Provides own necessary operating supplies such as combs, scissors, brushes, shampoos, conditioners, hair treatments, all hand-held equipment, disinfectant equipment and solution, etc.
