    SOUS CHEF/ASSISTANT CULINARY MANAGER- AUBURN MEADOWS IN WACONIA

    If so, AUBURN HOMES AND SERVICES has a role awaiting you. We are currently seeking an SOUS CHEF/ASSISTANT CULINARY MANAGER to come and join our Waconia campus team. Current availability includes FULL-TIME HOURS FROM 8AM-6:30PM, INCLUDING EVERY OTHER WEEKEND. WILL WORK 4 DAYS A WEEK AND HAVE ONE WEEKEND AS A 3 DAY WEEKEND. THIS POSITION IS 80 HOURS BI-WEEKLY AND BENEFIT ELIGIBLE.

    BI-WEEKLY SCHEDULE:

    WEEK 1

    • Sunday 8am-6:30pm
    • Tuesday 8am-6:30pm
    • Wednesday 8am-6:30pm
    • Thursday 8am-6:30pm

    WEEK 2

    • Monday 8am-6:30pm
    • Tuesday 8am-6:30pm
    • Friday 8am-6:30pm
    • Saturday 8am-6:30pm

    The primary purpose of the Sous Chef/Assistant Culinary Manager is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Culinary Manager, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.  Support and assist the Dietary Manager with the overall operation of the Culinary Department.  Assume day-to-day responsibilities in the absence of the Culinary Manager to assure continuity for staff and residents.

    1. This position is responsible for monitoring departmental compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in preparing attractive, nutritious and palatable meals for residents /customers following established menus, policies and practices, as well as best practices.
    2. Monitors procurement, storage, preparation, and distribution and service of food under sanitary conditions.
    3. Oversees, and assures, appropriate nutritional care for residents according to physician orders, state/federal regulations and resident care plans.
    4. Requires daily engagement with employees and assisting them to be successful in their positions.  The successful candidate will be responsible for creating work schedules for cooks and dietary assistants. The Assistant Culinary Manager provides recognition to employees who perform their job correctly and consistently, and provides coaching and redirection to those who need to improve performance.
    5. The successful candidate is required to follow Auburn Home’s infection control policies and procedures, OSHA, and CDC Guidelines that apply to blood borne pathogens, serving food, assisting residents, and cleaning.
    6. This position ensures residents’ common dining areas are pleasant and orderly.
    7. Will be in charge of the Dietary Department in the absence of the Dietary Manager.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    1. One (1) year food experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not necessary).
