    Job Description

    REPORTS TO:  Executive Director of Human Resources & Operations

    SUMMARY: The Human Resources intern provides administrative assistance, contributes to key projects, and gains additional exposure to all aspects of Human Resources, including recruiting, onboarding, employee record-keeping, training, compensation, issue resolution and staff separations. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1.      Prepare source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.

    2.      Maintain data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.

    3.      Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

    4.      Maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive data.

    5.      Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    6.      Assist with College Recruiting related tasks/functions.

    7.      Assist in creation/execution of communication plans/campaigns.

    8.      Assist with social media presence/conduct social media channel research.

    9.      Comply with safety procedures to reduce the potential for personal injury or damage to district equipment.

    10.  Knowledge and execution of principles and processes for providing customer services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

    11.  Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

    12.  Perform other duties as assigned.

    13.  Regular, in person, attendance and punctuality are required.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1.      Current enrollment in accredited university in appropriate degreed program for position; Human Resources, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or Business degree.

    2.      Strong written and verbal communications skills.

    3.      Initiative, self starter, highly motivated, high attention to detail, interpersonal skills, mathematical skills, problem solving skills, data analysis skills and computer skills.

    4.      Knowledge and familiarity of social media channels.

    5.      Experience or working knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS) or Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools preferred.

    6.      G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    1.      Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

    2.      Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

    3.      Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.

    4.      Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

    5.      Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing/keyboarding or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.

    6.      Grasping: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.

    7.      Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.

    8.      Hearing: Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.

    9.      Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

    10.  Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The worker sits most of the time.

    11.  Visual Acuity-Clerical: Work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal extensive reading, visual inspection operation of machines at distances close to the eyes.

    12.  The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

    Additional Information

    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  Temporary position during Summer of 2019

    SALARY:  $12/hr.

    EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Executive Director of Human Resources and Operations
