Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Audio/Video/Control/Lighting/Shading Systems Designer to join our high-end residential and commercial AV technology team. This role focuses on designing and specifying integrated systems that enhance luxury residential and select commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in AV systems, lighting, shading, and control systems, paired with a creative eye for integrating these technologies seamlessly into high-end interiors.

Duties and Responsibilities: System Design & Specifications
Develop detailed designs for integrated audio/video, lighting, shading, and control systems that meet client needs and architectural requirements.
Create structured wiring schematics, layout plans, and documentation to ensure system functionality and ease of installation.
Ensure all designs are in compliance with industry standards and best practices, with a focus on quality, reliability, and user experience.
Client & Team Collaboration
Work directly with clients, architects, interior designers, and builders to understand project requirements and align system designs with aesthetic and functional goals.
Collaborate closely with the sales and project management teams to refine proposals and ensure alignment between design and project scope.
Participate in project meetings to discuss design intent, timelines, and any necessary adjustments to achieve optimal outcomes.
Product Knowledge & Expertise
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new technologies, and product advancements within audio, video, control systems, lighting, and shading solutions.
Maintain proficiency with top brands and technologies, such as Control4, Lutron, Crestron, and others, to recommend and design optimal solutions.
Documentation & Technical Support
Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including system schematics, rack elevations, and cable schedules, for efficient installation and integration.
Provide ongoing technical support and oversight during the installation phase to ensure designs are executed accurately.
Conduct final system checks and ensure that all components are functioning seamlessly before project sign-off.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 2 years experience in the AV installation industry
Proven experience in system design for audio, video, lighting, shading, and control systems, preferably in luxury residential projects.
General knowledge of construction
Strong understanding of system integration principles, structured wiring, and networking fundamentals.
Proficiency with MS Office suite of products
Proficiency with Adobe suite of products a plus
Experience with Ease, AGI32, and/or DIALux a plus
Experience with D-Tools suite of products a plus
Proficiency in design and drafting software, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar.
Knowledge of leading automation and control systems like Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Josh.ai, and similar technologies.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both clients and internal teams.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects effectively.
A high degree of professionalism and the ability to represent the company in high-end settings.
Experience with Ubiquity Unifi Network platform and products
Familiarity with AV manufacture including Wisdom Audio, Meridian, Audio Control, AVPro Edge, Anthem, Storm, Barco, Sony, Samsung, LEA, Sonance, James, Origin, Ambisonic, Marantz, NAD, Harmon Pro, and other audio video brands including the setup and use is a must.
