  • Responsibilities

    General Summary: The Audio/Video System Control (Automation) Programmer will be responsible for developing and programming control systems to support Audio/Video installations for AvMC G6.

    • Consults with the Enterprise Audio/Video Architect, project leads and users to analyze functions that need to be automated, client requirements, objectives, desired features, and input/output specifications.
    • Writes and maintains functional and technical specifications.
    • Analyzes and estimates feasibility, time, compatibility with other systems, and computer capabilities.
    • Develops and maintains plans outlining steps and timelines for application development, testing, and installation.
    • Researches and evaluates software and hardware options for programming or as program platforms.
    • Creates test transactions and runs tests to identify errors and ensure programs meet specifications. Analyzes code to determine the cause of errors and makes necessary revisions.
    • Collaborates with clients to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs, ensuring proper operations.
    • Writes and maintains documentation describing program development, logic, coding, testing, modifications, and bug fixes.
    • Writes or reviews documentation created by others that explains installation and operational procedures.
    • Provides technical assistance by addressing inquiries related to program errors, problems, or questions.
    • Trains end users or technical support staff on program usage.
    • Researches and evaluates new features and/or functions as required, estimates time required to implement changes, and implements changes.

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • Bachelors’ degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business or other related field or equivalent
    • Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in programming, with a focus on audio/video equipment.
    • Knowledge of desktop applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
    • Active Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship required;

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Crestron, AMX and Extron programming certifications are preferred.
    • Experience with Distributed Audio/Video systems, videoconferencing, and boardroom installations is desired.
