The Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center (franchised property); in downtown Augusta, Georgia; on the Riverwalk is seeking an Accounting Manager to handle payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and more. Hands on position. Must love customer service as well as accounting. Direct guest contact includes serving in a rotation (once every 6-8 weeks) as the Manager on Duty for the hotel. Position reports to: Controller

Education desired: Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration Degree

Experience: Degree plus 2 years direct work experience; or 5 years of direct accounting work experience (in the areas mentioned below) in lieu of degree.

Computer knowledge: Must be able to embrace all property systems and learn quickly.

Dress code: Professional business attire

Salaried position: Our managers work 8 to 10 hour days depending on season, workload and occupancy. For accounting, end of month and end of year produce a heavy workload that requires extra hours. Generally the team works Monday - Friday, but peak occupancy may generate the need for some weekend hours. All staff work Master's Week (without exception) and other high occupancy times.

Experience: Seeking someone with payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, balance sheet account reconciliation, sales tax reporting.

Ideal candidate will be strong in several key areas listed: CPA firm experience, Payroll experience, General Accounting, Payables, Receivables, Reconciliation, Audit, Tax or Bookkeeping.
