Non Clinical - Ceritfied Coder- Day Shift- Norman, OK REMOTE POSITION

Salary: $17-$28/ hr DOE Shift: Mon-Fri 8a-5pm location: Norman, OK Start Date: 12/18

Requirements:

Bachelors of Science or Associates in Applied Arts/Science or equivalent years of experience. - Required

Has 1+ year Professional Coding, Facility Coding, or has experience in both segments - Required - See below for breakdown of required experience in each segment *** (Preferred Coder has BOTH Professional Coding and Facility Coding experience, but will entertain applicants with one or the other.)

Candidates applying with Facility coding MUST have Same Day Surgery and Observation experience - Required

Candidates applying with Professional coding MUST have Hospital, Medicine, or ED experience - Required

Actively seek to obtain certification with American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and/or Registration with American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC) as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) or other equivalent coding certification.

Applicants must have their own equipment with superior Internet speed capabilities.

RI Coder essential functions include, but are not limited to:

Codes a limited amount of patient type records to create the hospital’s case mix index database and health statistical indices.

Audits, codes, and abstracts diagnostic and procedural information and assigns optimal diagnostic related group (MS-DRG or APC).
