Our Crew Members build new homes and repair existing homes for qualified families in Central Texas. The work is construction and members will be expected to lead diverse groups of volunteers. The AmeriCorps program is a Service/Learning opportunity lasting approximately 46.5 weeks (Sept. 2021 -July 2022); where members serve alongside staff and skilled volunteers on our Construction sites and in our Administrative offices. Members will acquire leadership skills that translate directly into job experience and the satisfaction of making a difference in your community and country This is a paid volunteer position through CNCS (Corporation for National Community Service), managed through Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI). Benefits include a living stipend distributed bi-weekly (total $16,300 over 46.5 weeks), a monthly housing stipend (up to $400), health plan benefits, and qualified student loan forbearance, and a support of child care. Members that successfully complete their term of service will also receive and Education Award of $6,345 to be applied to future education expenses or qualified student loans.
