    We are looking for responsible, self-motivated individuals who want to grow into a new career. You will work directly with patients to gather information, take images, set up exam rooms and assist Physician during treatments.

    Summary Highlights:

    • Triage patients while obtaining accurate documentation of patient's medical history

    • Obtain patient's chief complaint and screen, e.g., visual acuity, confrontational visual fields, measure IOP, pupillary check, ocular motility, dilate pupils, OCT imaging, check blood pressure, etc.

    • Communicate with team members, team leader, physician about patient care and efficiency

    • Communicate with patients using a caring tone and provide thorough communication before and after their visit with the physician, providing education as needed

    • Assist and prep exam room and prepare patient charts for physician

    • May recruit patients for clinical trials as needed

    Essentials and pluses to help be successful in this role:

    • Experience in a busy optometry, ophthalmology, and/or retina clinic

    • COA, COT, or COMT certification

    • Fluency in Spanish is a plus

    • Demonstrated effectiveness showing courtesy, diligence, integrity, and teamwork

    • Strong interpersonal skills including effective listening, clear communicator, effective customer problem resolution with a warm and caring demeanor

    • Ability to work Monday – Friday with hours between 5 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. With possible overtime, when traveling to different locations in company vehicle

    • Ability to master multiple computer systems for data entry and data retrieval

    • Ability to master ophthalmology and retina terminology

    • Willingness to drive in company vehicle on clinic visits. Travel is within 120 miles of Austin, 1-3 times per week

    Vehicle & Driving Requirement

    • Possess a valid Texas driver's license

    • Have a satisfactory MVR that reflects 3 years minimum driving experience

    • Provide proof of valid personal auto coverage for vehicle

    • Own reliable transportation to drive to local clinics during the work day, mileage will be reimbursed

    • Ability to drive company vehicle to satellite clinics. Company insurance requires that driver be 21years of age or more

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to see and hear patients and coworkers

    Ability to speak loud enough for patients to hear

    Ability to operate computer devices, keyboard and mouse continually during the work day

    Ability to stand and walk for several hours at a time

    Manual dexterity to operate small to large ophthalmic equipment
