An independently owned and operated Maaco Collision Repair and Auto Painting franchisee is seeking to hire energetic and dependable Paint Prepper/Detailers to assist Paint Technicians in preparing vehicles for painting. Responsibilities

Assist Paint Technician in preparing vehicle for painting including cleaning, blocking, sanding, masking, and more.

Wash vehicles to remove dirt, grease and debris from painted surfaces

Prepare vehicle for repair by priming and sanding parts and panels for painting

Locate and remove imperfections on panels

Apply tape to protect unpainted surfaces such as bumpers, windows, chrome trim, etc

Smooth and sand unmasked surfaces

Work closely with Paint Technician mixing paint

After vehicle is painted, remove tape and clean, wet-sand and buff freshly painted surfaces

Inspect for quality workmanship, noting any unprimed areas, runs, etc.

Prepare vehicle for customer delivery

Perform proper tool and equipment usage and maintenance

Maintain a clean and orderly work area

Qualifications

Experience with auto body sanding, masking, etc. is preferred. Training is provided

Ability to stand and bend for extended periods of time

A good work ethic and positive attitude

Good communication skills and pays attention to details

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information

Working knowledge of body shop equipment and tools is a plus

Basic mechanical understanding of automobiles

Valid driver's license and good driving record.
