The career opportunity for you:
Recore Electric is seeking a detail-oriented AutoCAD Designer to develop and maintain technical drawings for life safety systems, including fire alarm, and emergency communication systems. This role supports engineering, installation, and compliance efforts by producing accurate, code-compliant designs and as-built documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and revise AutoCAD drawings for life safety systems such as fire alarms, mass notification, and emergency lighting.
- Interpret project specifications, architectural drawings, and engineering notes to produce coordinated layouts.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC, local AHJ requirements).
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field technicians to resolve design issues.
- Prepare submittal packages, including drawings, riser diagrams, device layouts, and material lists.
- Update drawings based on redlines, RFIs, and field changes; produce accurate as-built drawings.
- Maintain organized drawing files and documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Assist with permitting processes and coordination with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting required; 3D a plus).
- Experience designing or drafting life safety systems (fire alarm, or low-voltage systems).
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (NFPA 72, NFPA 13, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or certification in drafting, engineering technology, or related field.
- Experience with Revit or BIM coordination.
- NICET certification (or willingness to obtain).
Work Environment:
- Office-based with occasional site visits.
- May require coordination with field teams and deadlines tied to construction schedules.
