    AT OUR AVON, OHIO LOCATION, WE ARE A FULL SERVICE SUPPLIER OF METAL STAMPINGS AND WELDED ASSEMBLIES FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY.  OUR STAMPING CAPABILITIES RANGE FROM 300-2000 TONS WITH BOTH PROGRESSIVE AND TRANSFER PRESSES.  WE HAVE 8 PEDESTAL WELDERS, 14 DEDICATED WELD CELLS, REPACKING, AND HAND ASSEMBLY OPERATIONS.  COME JOIN OUR TEAM AND BE A PART OF SOMETHING BIG!

    A Tool & Die Repair will analyze specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges and machinist’s hand tools by performing the following duties:

    • Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts and make repairs
    • Computes dimensions, plans layout and determines assembly method and sequences of operations
    • Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining
    • Determine specifications for inspection of work, using full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before, during and after machining
    • Performs extensive die maintenance such as rebuilding die sections, retrimming pads and forms and engineering changes on all types of dies
    • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, blanchard and surface grinder to machine parts and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications
    • Lifts machines parts and positions and secure parts on the surface place or worktable
    • Smoothes flat and contoured surfaces to fit and assemble parts together into assemblies and mechanisms
    • Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances
    • Hand or spot grind Iron to Iron and Metal Out
    • Heat-treats tools or parts
    • Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures to recommend design modifications regarding construction and function of part
    • Connects wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components

    Required Skills Required Experience

    State Journeyman Certificate; degree or equivalent from a technical school; or eight years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, averages, and apply concepts of basic math and algebra.

    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    BUSINESS JUDGMENT:  Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures in a professional and consistent manner. Able to apply common sense understanding and use appropriate judgment in routine business situations with supervisors, co-workers and customers.  Maintain the ultimate example of business judgment and professional conduct at all times.  The ability to understand and strictly follow both internal and external business ethics and standards.
