SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides the needed supervision for both the Assembly and Press departments
- Delegate duties evenly to the team leaders to ensure work orders and projects are being completed on time.
- Provide direction and leadership consistent with plant business plan goals.
- Ensure team leaders are up to date on current plant plans and requirements to meet budget goals and keep production running efficiently.
- Communicate the overtime schedule to the work team.
- Communicate and prioritize daily work assignments to the team.
- Provide leadership and promote positive moral and ensure a total team concept.
- Coordinate and assess required training and team building and provides associates with necessary training to be successful in their role.
- Communicate key information to the organization through the daily “shift to shift” communication plan.
- Responsible for performance feedback and leadership of all direct reports including mentoring, coaching, counseling and corrective action when situations dictate.
- Run breakdowns in press and assembly. Delegate work as needed to support the breakdowns. Lean on Maintenance Manager and Team Leaders to assist when multiple breakdowns occur at one time. Keep Management and customers up to date during breakdown and communicate when equipment is back up and running.
- Responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment to support production jobs and for managing the preventive maintenance schedules.
- Responsible for maintaining maximum levels of press utilization and efficiency.
- Provide the proactive leadership necessary to achieve and maintain a continuous improvement mind set for the team.
- Provide key input into the development of departmental strategic goals along with identifying key measurable to support the departmental goals.
- Track, monitor and implement required improvement activities related to business plan goals and issues.
- Champion assigned engineering changes communicate and coordinate accordingly to all departments.
- Participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities (ex. 8D reports, department meetings, etc.).
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
- Prepare all accident reports to include identification of root cause and corrective action.
- Responsible for ensuring the entire team has the necessary tools and materials to properly perform their roles safely and efficiently.
- Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing all daily work activities and the adherence to all company policies and procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II procedures, etc.).
- Responsible for maintenance department safety, quality, production and delivery objectives in his/her area of responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Applied Science in Manufacturing, Engineering or Industrial Technology Masters degree preferred.
Minimum of six (6) years as a maintenance supervisor preferred, and one (1) year of management experience.
Knowledge of manufacturing, stamping, and/or assembly processes as required for the position.
Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast paced environment.
Ability to mentor and teach the team in effective problem solving methods.
Proven leadership ability.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
