    Title: Set-Up/Operator - Automatic Presses

    Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (possible overtime on Fridays and Saturdays)

    Salary: $20.00 - $24.00 / hour (based on experience)

    Set-Up/Operator - Automatic Presses Role:

    Our client is seeking a Set-Up/Operator - Automatic Presses to execute job set-ups and operate automatic stamping presses across both single-hit and progressive dies. This position exists to keep production running efficiently while manufacturing high-quality parts to customer specifications without compromising safety or product standards.

    Set-Up/Operator - Automatic Presses Responsibilities:

    • Set dies in stamping presses and produce samples to specification for first article submission to Quality Assurance
    • Operate stamping presses while manufacturing quality parts at established production rates
    • Set and adjust lubrication systems, part eject/collection systems, and safety systems
    • Ensure job carts contain required inspection equipment, gauges, and work instruction documents
    • Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, plug gauges, and dial indicators to verify part specifications
    • Maintain cleanliness in and around the press and work area, including scrap removal upon order completion
    • Load and unload raw material from stock reels or pans alongside the Material Handler while verifying material tags
    • Read and interpret part blueprints accurately
    • Record production data, quality metrics, and set-up documentation per operating procedures

    Set-Up/Operator - Automatic Presses Reporting Relationships:

    The Set-Up/Operator reports directly to the Production Manager. This position has no direct reports.

    About You:

    • Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Demonstrate knowledge of basic stamping press operations for single-hit and progressive dies
    • Possess skill in using QC measurement devices and precision gauges
    • Demonstrate strong defect identification capabilities
    • Complete production documentation accurately
    • Read and interpret technical blueprints
    • Lift up to 50 lbs frequently
    • Perform moderate climbing to adjust dies or raw materials
    • Hold a forklift certification (preferred)

    Additional Information:

    • Physical Demands: Requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, manual dexterity, and moderate climbing to adjust dies and materials.
    • Working Conditions: Standard industrial metal stamping plant environment. Safety equipment and compliance with standard operating procedures are mandatory.
