Technical Source is looking for an experienced Automation Engineering Project Manager. Our client provides automation engineering and design services to a variety of industries mostly in the North and South Carolina areas, with a heavy focus in the greater RTP area. Industries include Pharmaceuticals, Specialty Chemicals, Water / Waste Water, Food & Beverage, and others.
We’re looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join the team to provide support focused on project management. This individual will have direct impact and visibility with the senior leadership team.
The Role:
- Project Manager
- Location: greater RTP area, North Carolina
- Our client is a fully remote organization. The candidate will be expected to primarily work from their home office and travel locally, as needed, to job sites in the RTP, NC area.
- Up to 30% travel to customer sites should be expected.
- Provide direction and leadership to the project team.
- A strong technical background in systems integration and / or automation engineering is key to the success of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be able to act as a project manager to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders on complex projects.
- Coordinate directly with clients and external vendors. Lead meetings and track action items and deliverables. Follow up on overdue items and prioritize tasks.
- Be responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle from initiation through closure which includes budget, scope, resource allocation, procurement, risk assessment, and safety considerations.
- Develop estimates and proposals with customers and internal teams to determine requirements. Develop work breakdown structures and utilize internal estimating tools as part of initial estimate development with input from technical stakeholders.
- Assist the administrative team by reviewing and approving timesheet entries on a weekly basis to ensure accuracy of billing. Reject or move time entries to correct issues on a timely basis.
- Maintain projects in online project management tools (Avaza, Sharepoint, Lists, etc).
- Assist administrative team with month-end invoice preparation by reviewing PM tools to ensure accuracy of billing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline with industry work experience.
- May consider alternative educational background with proven work experience record.
- Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience.
- Minimum 5 years automation engineering / design or systems integration experience.
- Experience working in process-based industries (Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, or Food and Beverage).
- Experience working in validated or regulated industries.
- Candidate must be highly detailed oriented and self-motivating.
- Candidate must be able to handle multiple simultaneous projects and be able to coordinate closely with team members and clients to provide timely updates and prioritize work.
- Candidate should have a dedicated home office space and ability to focus and work in a remote WFH environment. Client will provide required computer equipment (laptop, monitors, printer, iPad).
- Candidate must be able to provide your own transportation to travel to client sites.
- Candidate must be able to navigate customer sites which require walking between buildings, navigating multiple levels of stairs, and working in industrial environments / conditions.
