    Position Summary
    The Automation Engineer is responsible for process development from initial design through mass production, as well as providing ongoing engineering support across the organization. This role plays a key part in new model launches, continuous improvement initiatives, and production optimization. In the absence of the Chief Engineer, the Automation Engineer will have authority to make decisions related to new model introductions and engineering activities.

    Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in injection molding within the automotive industry
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing and assembly
    • Demonstrated project management experience
    • Experience programming PLCs and HMIs, including Omron, Keyence, and Proface
    • Wiring knowledge preferred

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Support plant Kaizen and continuous improvement activities
    • Develop production line layouts and process flows
    • Perform root cause analysis and implement effective countermeasures
    • Provide engineering support for automotive injection molding and assembly processes, including troubleshooting and process optimization
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new models into assembly lines

    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
    • Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and electrical systems, including robots, sensors, and I/O signals
    • Omron PLC and HMI programming experience
    • Keyence PLC and HMI programming experience
    • Proface HMI programming experience (preferred)
    • Wiring knowledge is a plus
