Position Overview

We are seeking an Automation Engineer to support injection molding and automated assembly operations in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for PLC programming, process optimization, and automation troubleshooting to improve production efficiency, reliability, and quality.

This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone with 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing automation who is looking to expand their technical scope and project ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and modify PLC/HMI programs (Omron, Keyence, Pro-face preferred)
• Support injection molding and assembly line automation systems
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic systems
• Conduct time studies and analyze process performance
• Assist with line layout development and process flow improvements
• Support new model launches and automation integration
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, tooling, and maintenance teams
• Participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
• 2–4 years of experience in automotive manufacturing or injection molding
• Experience with PLC programming (Omron, Keyence, or similar platforms)
• Knowledge of sensors, I/O systems, robotics, and industrial controls
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience conducting time studies and process optimization
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-platform PLC systems
• Wiring knowledge
• Experience supporting automated assembly lines
• Project management exposure
