    Summary of Role: As a Senior Control Systems Engineer you will take responsibility for the planning and design of significant portions of a control system with minimal supervision.

    Summary of Responsibilities:

    Programming, implementation, testing, and documentation of potentially complex, technically oriented, and sensitive computerized automated control systems.

    You will be part of a team member for projects working under the direction of a Project Manager and potentially a Lead Control Systems Analyst.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1) Planning and design of significant portions of a control system with minimal supervision.

    2) Works with the project team to develop the scope of a project including defining how the control system should work, defining the reports/documentation, defining the screens/graphics, and defining the type of startup support needed.

    3) Advanced knowledge in programming, implementation, testing, and documentation of a control system which may include programming of one or more parts of the control system.

    4) Required base knowledge of the areas listed below and expert level in two of the four following advanced programming.

    a) PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)

    b) Hardware set-up and/or the HMI (Human Machine Interface)

    c) PC Configuration

    d) Database Management

    5) Maintains confidentiality on potentially sensitive customer information.

    6) Available for after-hours support and possible pager duty.

    7) Configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of PC/PLC hardware and software, and customer networks.

    8) Capable of installing and starting up a control system on a customer’s site without direct supervision.

    9) Is capable of performing in-house and in-plant customer operator training for the control system.

    10) Responsible for developing programming standards and verifying that they are being followed.

    11) May be required to help in the training of other employees in the department.

    12) Performs technical design, and code reviews, and helps in estimating pricing for projects.

    13) Other duties may be assigned.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor degree in engineering or another technical degree or an AS Degree in a technology discipline.
    • Experience in programming in the Industrial Environment, implementing Industrial Control Software (Startup), and experience in dealing with customers regarding system requirements, etc.
    • Must have 5+ years of experience as a Control Systems Developer, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Our client will consider a candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, the salaries of current employees in similar roles, and other factors when extending an offer.
