    This is a great hybrid opportunity to travel up to 40% and make more money! Enjoy extra pay on top of your salary when traveling! Our client is looking for a motivated and talented Automation Engineer with at least 2 years of hands-on automation experience.

    In this role you would work on automation projects from start to finish and ensure successful implementation of required project scope and customer satisfaction. Participate as a key team member in research and development. Participate as a key team member for customer technical support and sales. Provide technical input and support for product development to promote profitability, production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effectiveness.

    This is a hybrid role where you can work up to 50% from your home office in the Twin Cities area!

     

    *Must be willing and able to travel up to 40%, some international travel as parent company is in Europe. You will earn $15/hour on top of your salary when travelling to customer sites!

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Provide controls systems design, specification, programming, simulation, testing, on-site start-up and training;
    • Generate detailed project documentation folder upon project completion;
    • Provide user/operator interface programming;
    • Provide PC programming and network configuration;
    • Provide Server and Database programming and configuration;
    • Assure the company and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image;
    • Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors;
    • Develop and maintain customer contact for maintenance and support services;
    •  Identify and help resolve customer technical and product development concerns;

      Additional Responsibilities:
    • On-site commissioning and training.
    • Participate in 24/7 Support Team coverage, typically once every 6 weeks. (phone and on-line internet VPN).

      Knowledge and skill requirements:

    • PLC programming; must have Rockwell programming experience.
    • HMIs (iFix / Wonderware / FactoryTalk) and data historians.
    • Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 9001 requirements.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills both verbal and written.
    • Technical writing and documentation review skills.
    • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years of automated equipment experience in the automation industry or similar.
