    The Sr. Project Engineer – Facilities is responsible for end-to-end planning and execution of facility-related complex engineering projects in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

    Essential Duties

    • Leads and executes multiple projects through all phases including conceptual design, detailed design, writing of equipment and construction specifications, selection of equipment and contractors managing the constructions project.
    • Establishes the work plan for each phase of the project. Works with internal and external partners/resources defines work plans, assigned responsibilities and scope of authority.
    • Prepares project reports and provides management with regular and consistent updates. Proactively notifies management of project challenges and budget changes.
    • Coordinates the design and construction of new facilities and facility upgrades.
    • Manages project capital spending within established norms. Provides financial reports as required.
    • Oversees building automation systems standards development, systems selection criteria, systems performance comparison, systems implementation, and building automation systems.
    • Oversees installation, operation and maintenance of building automation systems controlling various building systems such as lighting, HVAC and water heating. Partners with maintenance and external vendors to troubleshoot and repair automation systems as needed.
    • Investigates new equipment and technologies in the pre-planning stages of a project and determines appropriate equipment for the application. Prepares cost estimates and justification sufficient to attain project funding.
    • Reviews technical reports and documents for accuracy/content and approves final documents.

    Ideal candidate will possess:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
    • 9+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in GMP environment and pharmaceutical background preferred.
    • A minimum of 5+ years of CAD experience preferred.
    • Building construction experience desirable.
    • Professional Engineering license or EIT certification preferred.
