    Grow your career and skillset working as a Sr. Automation Engineer (IOT Specialist) with a growing engineering firm in the Modesto, CA area!

    This person must be a seasoned Controls Engineer who happens to lean towards the IOT space.

    This position will require development work within an office environment and support at client sites mainly within a 2 hour radius of Modesto.

    The following skills and requirements are desired:

    • BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or 10+ years equivalent relevant industry experience.
    • Cloud-based software configuration, troubleshooting, complex analysis, and an advisory liaison to customers.
    • Highly proficient in Network Architecture (routers, switches), Network Configuration, and Protocols, both wired and wireless.
    • Highly proficient in communication and data transfer protocols, such as MQTT, BACnet, SNMP, HTTP/HTTPS, various Web Services, TLS, etc.)
    • Experience in Cybersecurity, Security IoT, IT Audit and/or technology related fields.
    • Variety of expert controls experience – i.e. PLC experience (primarily Allen Bradley), SQL databases, Python, Java, Process automation, Network IT/OT convergence.
    • Strong competency in using Rockwell Automation products, WonderWare and Inductive Automation HMI/SCADA software. 3-5 years’ experience with Ignition development (v7.9-8.1) and Ignition Gold certified (strongly preferred).
    • Must be able to read and generate P&ID’s, flow diagrams and electrical schematics.
    • Advanced knowledge of networking and communication protocols, such as but not limited to, EtherNet, Asi, Modbus, IO-Link. ControlNet and DeviceNet.
    • Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and/or ePlan.
    • Identify control system components and use a bill of materials to meet project requirements adhering to UL 508A, IEEE and NEC standards.
    • Complete projects within a budget. Support and/or create project cost estimates.
    • High level knowledge of process instrumentation.
    • High level knowledge of programming and configuring Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
    • Excellent communication skills; oral, written and listening. Proven customer facing skills and the ability to effectively communicate at both a high-level and a technical level.
    • High level knowledge of, or interest in, mechanical systems and manufacturing equipment.
    • Must be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team as required.
    • Flexibility when required to work outside of normal business hours as required by client’s needs.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record.
    • Lead and mentor junior engineers, drafter’s and shop personnel.
