Job Overview

Jay Collision Center (a part of Jay Auto Group) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Body Shop Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive body repair, a keen eye for detail and passion for delivering high quality work. As a Body Shop Technician you will play a critical role in restoring vehicles to their original condition and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and collision damage restoration.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including MIG welding), and airless paint sprayers to restore vehicles to their original condition.
• Fabricate and shape sheet metal components to match factory specifications using fabrication techniques and sheet metal skills.
• Conduct auto painting and auto glass replacement with precision, ensuring flawless finishes and customer satisfaction.
• Solder, weld, and assemble vehicle parts while adhering to safety standards and quality controls.
• Assist with auto restoration projects by restoring vintage or damaged vehicles with meticulous attention to detail.
• Collaborate with team members on vehicle maintenance tasks and auto estimating processes to ensure timely completion of repairs.

Requirements

• Proven dealership or auto body shop experience demonstrating proficiency in auto body repair techniques.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, auto painting, auto glass installation, and general automotive repair.
• Skilled in MIG welding, soldering, fabrication, sheet metal work, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
• Experience with auto estimating software and customer service skills for effective communication with clients.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a physically demanding environment.
• Knowledge of auto restoration processes and experience with airless paint spraying is a plus.
• Valid driver's license preferred; mechanic experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
