We are hiring a General Service (GS) Technician for tires, lube, and entry-level automotive services. This role is designed for individuals starting or building an automotive career, with a structured advancement path from Beginner → GS3 → GS2 → GS1 → C-Level Technician.
This is a hands-on position with training, clear expectations, and real opportunities to grow — not just an oil change job.
Core Responsibilities
Shop Safety & Professional Standards
Follow all shop safety procedures and properly use safety and emergency equipment
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe personal work area
Properly clean, handle, and dispose of fluids and hazardous waste
Tire & Lube Services
Perform lube, oil, and filter services on all vehicles
Check and set tire pressures using vehicle tire placards
Reset vehicle service reminders
Mount, balance, rotate, and inspect tires on steel, aluminum, and reverse wheels
Diagnose tire and wheel conditions, tread wear, and rim damage
Diagnose and reset TPMS sensors
Understand tire markings, tread types, and wheel balance principles
Inspections & Maintenance
Perform quality 30-point, annual, and pre-purchase inspections
Make maintenance recommendations based on vehicle condition, mileage, and age
Understand and identify fluid leaks vs. seepage
Locate fluid leaks and recommend appropriate services
Replace air and cabin filters, light bulbs, and wiper blades
Diagnose and replace 12V batteries and related components
Fluid & Basic Mechanical Services
Perform drain-and-fill fluid services
Perform pan and filter services (GS1 level)
Replace general engine maintenance items:
Belts, hoses, filters
Spark plugs, wires, coils, distributor caps and rotors
Replace basic steering and suspension components:
Shocks, strut assemblies, links, dampers
Perform basic to intermediate wheel alignments (commuter cars & light trucks)
Tools, Systems & Technology
Safely operated automotive lifts and jack stands
Use hand, electric, and air tools properly
Navigate shop computer systems and software (POS, AllData, Mitchell, Identifix)
Research service specifications include:
Fluid types and quantities
Torque specifications
Proper torque wrench procedures
Team Support
Assist A, B, and C technicians with larger repairs
Help maintain overall shop cleanliness and organization
Demonstrate willingness to learn and support team operations
Certifications & Growth
ASE G1 Certification (willingness to obtain)
ASE certifications support available
Clear advancement path into:
GS3 / GS2 / GS1
C-Level Technician
