Qualified Mechanic candidates for this hourly position should have:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
At least four (4) years hands-on experience as a mechanic/technician in an automotive, school bus fleet, trucking or heavy equipment environment ,or any equivalent combination of education and experience;
Must have Pennsylvania State Inspection and Emissions Certification.
Must have a current State driver's license.
ASE certification is a plus.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and compliance of Company safety rules.
Proficiency in diagnostics, electrical systems, engine repair, or lube tech operations.
Ability to learn new technologies and stay updated with service procedures and specifications.
Must be able to operate and use tools, gauges, machines, instruments, and other devices required in diagnosing and repairing automobiles.
Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the job.
Strong automotive background with experience working flat-rate.
Strong teamwork skills.
Effective time management and workflow efficiency skills.
Experience with using shop management software and performing digital vehicle inspections.
Candidate should have tools necessary for the duties of the position.
Job Tasks for Mechanic:
Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs with accuracy and efficiency.
Conduct state-required PA Safety and Emissions Inspections.
Diagnose vehicle problems using electronic diagnostic equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly with service advisors and clients.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shop.
Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
Perform thorough and accurate PM inspections.
Follow company required schedules and complete all required PM maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustment, and tire rotation.
Perform complex operations including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs and field tests.
Maintain tools and workplace so that shop conditions are neat and orderly.
Performs other work related to the above as required or directed.
Schedule:
Day shift
Monday to Friday
Occasional Saturday (as needed)
Expected Minimum Hours: 40 per week
Overtime Availability (as needed)
Pay:
$35+ per hour commensurate with experience.
