Pay Scale: Base salary is $6,000 per month, plus substantial commission opportunities based on dealership performance, sales results, and other factors. Typical monthly earnings range from $6,000 to $12,000, with top performers earning significantly more during high-volume sales periods.
What You'll Do
As an Assistant Sales Manager, you'll play a key leadership role in driving team performance, customer satisfaction, and dealership profitability.
Responsibilities include:
Coach, train, mentor, and motivate sales professionals to achieve individual and team goals
Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing top sales talent
Support daily sales operations and ensure appropriate staffing levels
Help establish and achieve monthly sales, gross profit, and customer satisfaction objectives
Work side-by-side with sales consultants to structure and close deals
Provide real-time coaching that improves performance and customer experience
Monitor key performance indicators and develop action plans for continuous improvement
Promote accountability while maintaining a positive, high-energy culture
Ensure compliance with dealership policies and applicable state and federal regulations
Collaborate with Finance, Service, Parts, and Administrative teams to create a seamless customer experience
Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to dealership growth initiatives

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of automotive sales leadership experience
Proven ability to develop and coach sales professionals
Strong desk management and deal-closing skills
Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Results-driven mindset with a passion for achieving goals
Lead by example and foster a positive team culture
Valid California Driver's License
Valid California Salesperson License
