Responsibilities: • Operate diagnostic equipment to accurately determine the cause of malfunction codes with the vehicle’s integrated computer system • Facilitate customer satisfaction and repeat business by following all manufacturer specifications for vehicle systems repairs • Perform thorough multi-point inspections on incoming used vehicles • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment • Conduct repairs and maintenance, including brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, electrical systems, and HVAC • Prepare used vehicles for resale by ensuring they meet dealership and state safety standards • Accurately document all work performed and parts used in repair orders • Collaborate with service advisors and used car managers to prioritize repairs and meet deadlines • Maintain a clean and organized work area • Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines Qualifications: • GED or high school diploma is mandatory • Completion of a certified post-secondary training program is mandatory; an associate degree is ideal • Technical school training is a plus • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician, preferably with used vehicles • ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain) • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills • Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment • Owning basic hand tools, the dealership or shop may provide specialty tools Compensation: $38 - $50 hourly
