Lead Technician
Experience: 10 - 20 Years
Certifications: Possess and maintain all ASE Certifications, holding Senior Master Status.
Diagnostic Skills: Proficient in all diagnostic procedures, including hard electrical issues and driveability problems, across all vehicle systems, makes, and models.
Repair Capabilities: Capable of complete system breakdown and reassembly, including but not limited to engine jobs, transmission replacement, tune-ups, electrical system testing, and overall vehicle maintenance.
Warranty Management: Responsible for managing all warranties.
Quality Control: Oversee and ensure quality control of all jobs completed by all technicians.
Technical Guidance: Proficient in looking up wiring diagrams and procedures; able to teach and guide lower-level technicians.
Policy Compliance: Follow and ensure all other technicians follow established policies and procedures.
Shop Management: Monitor shop operations and maintain quality control on all outgoing jobs.
Leadership: Lead by example, communicating problems and concerns to the manager to resolve issues proactively.
A Technician
Experience: 10 - 20 Years
Certifications: Possess and maintain all ASE Certifications, holding Senior Master Status.
Diagnostic Skills: Proficient in all diagnostic procedures, including hard electrical issues and driveability problems, across all vehicle systems, makes, and models.
Repair Capabilities: Capable of complete system breakdown and reassembly, including but not limited to engine jobs, transmission replacement, tune-ups, electrical system testing, and overall vehicle maintenance.
Support Role: Assist the Lead Technician with warranties and overseeing other technicians' work.
Technical Guidance: Able to look up wiring diagrams and procedures; teach and guide lower-level technicians.
Policy Compliance: Follow all established policies and procedures.
B Technician
Experience: 3 - 10 years
Responsibilities: Fulfill all responsibilities of a C Technician plus perform all fluid exchanges and light-duty parts replacements (belts, hoses, alternators, batteries, brake pads, and rotors).
Training & Development: Primarily a part-changing technician who is expected to learn from A Technicians and actively work towards ASE certifications.
Policy Compliance: Adhere to all policies and procedures, ensuring excellent inspection and quality control in a timely manner.
Research: Research procedures for specific jobs using all available data before starting work.
C Technician
Experience: 1 - 3 years
Responsibilities: Perform lube technician duties, including oil changes, fluid checks, oil filter changes, air filter checks, and code retrieval using scanners.
System Knowledge: Possess basic knowledge of all vehicle systems, including coolant, transmission, and power steering, as well as brake checks and tire torquing.
Additional Duties: Perform minor duties, including opening/closing responsibilities such as flag placement, trash disposal, and shop cleaning (mopping and sweeping).
Certification Goal: Work toward obtaining ASE Certifications.
All Technicians
Procedures: Follow all opening and closing procedures, as well as all company policies and procedures.
Inspections: Perform inspections properly and take good, accurate pictures during the inspection process.
Communication: Comply with requests from the manager or service writers.
Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness of the shop, break room, and employee's bathroom daily.
Productivity: Ensure continuous engagement in tasks; "if there is time to lean, there is time to clean."
Punctuality: Opening technicians arrive 15 minutes before start time; all other technicians arrive 10 minutes before start time to prepare for the shift.
