    Position Overview

    AvAirPros is looking for a Project Manager to join our team working at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). To be considered, you must have experience working in commercial aviation (airports). The role is responsible for assisting the Program Director in coordinating the activities of a major construction airport program to ensure cost, schedule, document control and quality standards are met, and operations are not disrupted. Under the direction of the Program Director, the Program Manager is expected to take on any/all tasks to ensure the Program is delivered within the constraints of budget, scope, schedule, and quality.

    The Program Manager coordinates design and construction issues with all stakeholders and ensures compliance with the construction documents, reviews RFI’s, shop drawings and Design Revisions on aviation-related projects through all phases of programming, design, permitting, and construction under the direction of the Program Director. The Program Manager must regularly monitor progress and address any issues. They must be able to work cooperatively with several project stakeholders including, but not limited to, airlines, IT professionals, environmental professionals, and airport staff including security, operations, maintenance and Airport program management personnel.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Ensure assigned projects are completed within budgets and schedules, while meeting client needs, business objectives, and design guidelines

    Manage all project managers within the program to ensure successful completion and coordination of all efforts

    Responsible for ensuring that project managers properly manage the project team including A/Es, CMaRs, and other contracted entities

    Ensure each project manager works cooperatively with the appropriate stakeholders to develop overall program scope, strategy, and requirements

    Develop schedules and budgets

    Monitor progress, provide financial control, and ensure quality control of the project

    Identify and evaluate alternative solutions to best meet program goals

    In certain circumstances, manage special studies, initiatives, or due diligence assignments

    Participate in or oversee the pre-qualification and bid evaluation process for consultants, contractors, and other outside vendors

    Interact with our airline client, BCAD, County Building and Fire Departments and other agencies as required to ensure that the program complies with all applicable standards

    Review applicable contracts and become familiar with terms & conditions.

    Review all short interval and overall project schedules and follow progress in the field and report anomalies.

    Review drawings and specifications and become completely familiar with the project and identify long lead times and critical path items.

    Monitor/track all necessary permits; open items and responses required by the A/EOR.

    Review sub evaluations/comparisons of bids, scope review, and look for any scope gaps

    Manage a project submittal, RFI, PCO’s and product log and ensure timely submittals and responses from the A/EOR. Review all PCO’s for justification and provide an independent take-offs and other cost verification exercises.

    Ensure contracts, insurance, and bonds are current and received before subcontractor performs any work on site. Follow up on collection of all non-received documents and escalate any issues.

    Track any required contractual authorizations needed, i.e. NTP’s, change orders, or field orders

    Prepare project meeting agendas and associated attachments as directed as well as attend weekly project meetings as requested and keep detailed meeting minutes.

    Pursue and monitor submittals and track deliveries of materials. Verify all submittal conformity to plans & specifications.

    Collect superintendent daily reports, weekly project pictures and safety documentation. Review for completeness and include in project documentation. Inform PM of deficiencies.

    Ensure contractor has appropriate coordination drawings on site and maintain compiled drawings and specifications. Review all revisions / ASD’s for compliance with BCAD standards and constructability, cost and schedule.

    Review payment applications, check for accuracy and compare to cost to complete forecast.

    Monitor all punchlists and the follow-up as necessary to ensure timely completion of punchlist work.

    Collect all required close out documents for certification.

    Assemble the close out documents and address non-compliant subcontractor directly for compliance.

    Review BIM model continuously through-out the process.

    Relationship Management: Develop critical relationships.

    Maintain client relationships at the appropriate level reinforcing the Company’s commitment to continuously addressing their needs and interests.

    Work collaboratively with outside parties (Stakeholders, business partners, Government Agencies, etc.) to accomplish client goals.

    Demonstrate effective relationship building within the program team and throughout the Company.

    Promote positive subcontractor / consultant relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors instilling this philosophy in the program team at all times.

    Skills and Experience

    Minimum of 8 years of experience in the management and/or implementation of medium to large, complex projects

    A strong understanding of all phases of construction project implementation

    Strong analytical and problem solving skills

    Excellent oral and written skills

    Strong attention to detail

    Strong leadership skills

    Ability to be self-directed, self-motivating, and self-disciplined

    Strong ability to work independently

    Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively

    Experience working with the airline industry preferred

    Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

    Qualifications

    B.S. in Engineering, Construction, Architecture or related field required
