CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGERThis is an exciting and challenging position working in aviation as an Owner's Representative, dealing directly with both airport operator and airlines.
Position Overview
Our Construction Project Managers (CPM) oversee projects during all phases: pre-construction, construction, and closeout. You must have the know how and experience to check design drawings and specifications, manage and run meetings, propose value engineering solutions that reduce project costs, and build and maintain positive working relationship with clients.
The position requires a high degree of autonomy with little supervision and the ability to supervise contractors, design team consultants, and owner vendors. You can expect to work in office settings, on construction sites, and throughout bustling terminals. 8-10 years experience required. Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in administration of aviation facility expansion and modernization
Assist with the preparation and support of the construction and development work plans
Assist in vendor selection, managing progress of contractors, reporting progress, review/processing change orders, developing and completing punch lists, project completion and reviewing close out documents
Compile, track, and transmit project related documents and maintain a project file system
Prepare memos, reports, briefings and other client deliverables that include spreadsheets, complex graphs, charts and tables
Assist construction team with tracking and reporting of logistics plans, phasing plans and construction activities
Review monthly invoices
Check design drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and request for information, and review with the airport authority at pre-set intervals
Manage and run weekly meetings and provide follow-up documentation
Propose value engineering solutions to reduce program costs
Use constructability analysis to prevent or reduce errors, delays, and program costs
Provide cost estimating and change order management
Build and maintain a positive working relationship with the client
Additional responsibilities may include assisting with design coordination activities, coordination of client purchased items, creating monthly dashboard reports, and program budgeting
Background and Experience
8-10 years experience working for a CM or GC
Experience and/or training in program and project management
Field experience (PM, Assistant Construction Manager, Superintendent, MEP)
Excel at working collaboratively with clients, contractors, architects, and other industry professionals
Physical ability to conduct regular site walks
Leadership and problem solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
The ability to be self-directed, self-motivating, and self-disciplined
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Required Qualifications
B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction/Building Management
