FINANCIAL CONTROLS
Help Build Airports. We have an exciting dynamic opportunity for a Financial Controls professional to join our team working at Los Angeles International Airport (ATL) on a variety of modernization programs at the airport.
Position Overview
As a member of the Program Management Office team, this position will support airline facility development projects and will work closely with senior project managers and on program management activities at various terminal at the airport keeping the projects on time and on budget.
This position is responsible for a full range of activities which will facilitate the operational effectiveness of a high-profile aviation consulting firm in the Atlanta area. As a key member of our team, the Financial Controls Manager will assist with accounting services, detailed financial analysis, and ad hoc reporting functions for a variety of clients. The successful candidate must possess strong Microsoft Excel skills, the ability to multi-task and gather data from various sources to understand, process, and assemble the information into meaningful analysis. Project deadlines occur regularly and are client driven. The Financial Controls Manager is expected to prepare recurrent reports for the clients, and other project deliverables as required and will be required to travel to other project locations on a frequent basis.
Responsibilities
Research and conduct thorough analysis of various comprehensive financial information sources
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data; record transactions and maintain information in different financial management systems and statistical software applications Maintain, publish and coordinate the dissemination of executive-level summaries, charts, reports, and other data as required
Work with senior management and project teams in the development and maintenance of financial models, cash flow forecasts, and ad hoc analytical projects
Work closely with project managers to ensure proper management of contracts, change orders, purchase orders and related invoices
Consultant will be responsible for managing the project invoice audit process, reviewing related project invoices, and making recommendations for payment processing
Provide analytical support and development of documents for specific aviation programs with respect to budget formulation, execution, tracking, reconciliation, and reporting
Assist with generation and presentation of financial data
Perform employee mentoring and provide technical guidance to staff
Some general administrative and office management efforts will be required
Create and maintain project control system databases ensuring data integrity for compiling various reports
Assume other coordination responsibilities as determined
Skills and Experience
Extraordinarily strong Excel skills are required and will be evaluated during the interview process
Advanced knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word/PowerPoint), with a demonstrated proficiency in database management
Proficiency in project scheduling software considered a plus
Strong analytical abilities, with detailed approach towards tasks and problem resolution
Excellent written and oral communication skills, and customer service skills
Solid self-driven, result-oriented nature with team-working capabilities
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic work environment, adapt easily to change, and interact at all levels in an organization
Must maintain a working relationship with clients, the airport, regulatory agencies, project management, engineers, contractors, and other industry professionals
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial information, legal and technical documents
Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking, with strong attention to detail
Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures
Knowledge of airline/airport operations, financing, structure and governmental procedures is considered a plus
Minimal to no physical demands
Able to adapt to schedule changes and work flexible hours; may require ability to work infrequent evening shifts
Understanding of the commercial aviation industry
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related subject; Accounting, Finance, Business, or Project Management preferred
3-5 years' experience in a relevant accounting or finance position
Able to pass a background check conducted by the Airport Authority to receive Security and Customs clearance
