Position Overview
Based at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), the Duty Manager will oversee the airline interline baggage operations as well as multiple vendors associated with the Seattle Tacoma Airline Consortium (STAC). As Duty Manager you will provide oversight to STAC’s interline baggage transfer operations and oversee the work performed by our contractors as well as provide support to the operation, prepare documents in relation to such operation, and attend meetings.
As Duty Manager you must be available to work 24 x 7 x 365 including weekends and holidays in support of airline operations. Approximately 25% of your work will take place outside and you could be exposed to temperature extremes. You're the ideal candidate if you have experience working at a commercial airport, knowledge of airline interline baggage management, strong interpersonal and computer skills, and effective handling with conflict resolution.
Duties and Responsibilities
As Duty Manager you'll be:
Responsible on behalf of STAC for the consortium’s interline baggage operations.
Interacting with airline and airport management as needed.
Attending daily/weekly/monthly meetings representing STAC and provide daily report of interline baggage performance.
Proactively overseeing operational performance of STAC service providers, systems, and services.
Overseeing the day-to-day operation.
Conduct daily inspections of STAC equipment, facilities, and services to facilitate continuous improvement and minimize equipment downtime
Respond to and mitigate emergencies as necessary; administer Accident Report Procedure as applicable.
Act as a liaison between the airlines, airport, government agencies, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Prepare daily reports to outline all pertinent activities, service or maintenance issues and provide detail information to General Manager.
Review daily service & equipment logs and ensure proper resolution of issues.
Perform daily/weekly/monthly facility audits/walks to including terminal, ramp, and public areas
Prepare daily interline baggage reports to STAC Members.
Maintain quality control standards for performance, reliability, serviceability, and safety.
Host and support monthly STAC meetings, maintain meeting minutes and deadlines.
Prepare regular monthly service performance reports.
Assist in the preparation, review and tracking of STAC contracts and evaluate contractual performance.
Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of and experience with interline baggage systems.Well developed interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.Computer literate including Excel, Power Point, Word.
Able to work Holidays, weekends, evenings as needed.
