CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER - AVIATION
You may not know us but we've been quietly helping clients in the commercial aviation business for 30 years. AvAirPros is a privately-held, employee-owned consulting and services firm and we have an interesting, exciting, and challenging position working at MCI as an Owner's Representative, dealing directly with both airport operator and airlines.
What you'll work on:
As the Construction Project Manager (CPM) you'll oversee our MCI project during all phases: pre-construction, construction, and closeout. You must have the know how and experience to check design drawings and specifications, manage and run meetings, propose value engineering solutions that reduce project costs, and build and maintain a positive working relationship with clients. Leading the efforts of the ATR office while exhibiting strong skills in terminal development and overall capital program development
Representing the Airlines as a voting member of the Project Management Committee (PMC), which will provide recommendations for all issues relating to matters affecting the TMP’s scope, schedule and budget
Providing direct and regular coordination with the Airline representative designated as one of two voting members of the Steering Committee, which makes the final decision on PMC recommendations
Together with the ACR airside/landside representative, you'll serve as the single point of contact for the Kansas City Aviation Department (KCAD) and the Airline Airport Affairs Committee (AAAC) on all issues regarding implementation of the TMP
Monitoring capital program progress while providing regular project feedback to ensure any potential setbacks are minimized through proper communication internally and with clients/stakeholders
Constant coordination of multiple projects, programs and clients to best serve the progress of the TMP
Identify and evaluate alternative solutions to best meet program goals
Managing special studies, initiatives, or due diligence assignments
Preparing memos, reports, briefings, proposals and other client deliverables
Providing leadership and support to the project teams
What you've done so far:
7+ years experience working for a CM or GC on large complex aviation projects with a deep understanding of terminal development programs
Lead and coordinated ATR office efforts
Worked collaboratively with clients, contractors, architects, and other industry professionals
Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
Developed impressive oral and written skills including addressing small and large audiences
Mastered the art of building relationships and motivating teams
Where you built the foundation:
B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction/Building Management, or Architecture preferred
Professional registration or affiliation and other advanced training is a bonus
