FINANCIAL CONTROLS MANGER

Help Build Airports. We have a dynamic opportunity for a Financial Controls professional to join our team working at Houston’s George Bush International Airport (IAH).

Position Overview

AvAirPros is the program manager for United Airlines $325M Baggage Handling System Replacement and Early Bag Storage System project at George Bush Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH). This is a challenging, complex, multi-phased program that must be executed with minimal operational disruption to one of United’s largest hubs.

As the Controls Manager you support airline facility development projects and work closely with senior project managers and on program management activities keeping the projects on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

Assist with the administration of aviation facility improvement, renovation, and remodel projects

Assist with the preparation and support of the construction and development work plans for each project

Assist in vendor selection, managing progress of contractors, reporting progress, processing change orders, developing and completing punch lists, project completion and reviewing close out documents

Compile, track, and transmit project related documents and maintain a project file system

Assist in the review and timely processing of invoices

Management of cost control systems

Prepare memos, reports, briefings, proposals and other client deliverables that include spreadsheets, complex graphs, charts and tables

Assist construction team with tracking and reporting of logistics plans, phasing plans and construction activities

Develop regular progress reports

Create and maintain financial models that track and allocate costs across multiple cost centers

Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flows, financial reports, and other financial projections

Monthly expenditure reconciliation between Program and Corporate

Prepare Acquisition Packages for reimbursement

Analysis of issues and make recommendations to Senior Management

Cost and scope analysis for Added Scope items

Database administration

Assist with vendor insurance management

Assist with the preparation of the monthly steering committee PowerPoint presentation

Preparation of Fund Request packages

Skills and Experience

5+ years of financial experience, ideally with a construction firm or commercial airport or airline

Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills

Self-starter with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, always changing environment

Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and produce project deliverables

Skilled at building and sustaining relationships with all stakeholders

Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to prioritize workload and deliverables

Skilled in Microsoft Suite as well as Oracle Primavera Unifier and/or e-Builder construction management software

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred

Project Management skills a plus
