    Position Overview

    The Operations Manager will be based at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and be part of our Philadelphia Terminal & Equipment Company (PhiliTEC) which is a consortium at the airport that provides aeronautical services for Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB), Airline Deicing Operations, Lavatory Dump stations, Electric GSE Charging Stations, Visual Guidance Docking Systems and Potable Water Cabinets.

    PhiliTEC operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Our services are vital to efficiently and effectively operating the nation’s 7th largest metropolitan area serving 31.6 million passengers annually including all major domestic carriers.

    We are seeking to hire an experienced Operations Manager to be part of our PhiliTEC team.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The Operations Manager will be responsible for the operating and maintenance functions of PhiliTEC, including but not limited to:

    Administering PHILITEC equipment operations and maintenance contracts as well as the operation and maintenance of the equipment.

    Maintaining budgets for the operation and maintenance of the PhiliTEC Equipment.

    Assisting in preparation of all Requests for Proposals ("RFPs"), issuing RFPs; receiving bids; receiving bids; recommending the execution of contractor agreements for the operation and maintenance of all PhiliTEC equipment and facilities

    Supervising the testing of all PHILITEC equipment and preparation of contingency plans and procedures.

    Supervising the installation of all PhiliTEC equipment and coordinating and assisting in the turnover and acceptance process.

    Defining and drafting training and operating procedures for airline and contractor personnel for the operation of all PhiliTEC equipment.

    Recommending and coordinating a parts inventory list along with appropriate tracking and accountability requirements.

    Assisting in the preparation and review of all maintenance-related contracts and supervising and evaluating all maintenance-related contractual performance.

    Reviewing daily service and equipment report logs and assisting with all maintenance-related issues.

    Representing the General Manager’s Office/PhiliTec as necessary during assigned shift.

    Supervising and monitoring all PhiliTEC managed systems and equipment.

    Monitoring the operational performance of all equipment and systems maintained by PhiliTEC.

    Coordinate with airlines, vendors, and contractors as required to ensure that each airline receives the desired level of service.

    Specify, evaluate, recommend and/or administer policies, practices and programs necessary to ensure a safe, efficient work environment.

    Prepare and distribute monthly management reports.

    Monitor equipment inventory.

    Respond to and mitigate emergencies as necessary.

    Maintain quality control standards for performance, reliability, serviceability and safety.

    Performing all other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager.

    Skills and Experience

    Experience in commercial aviation operations/maintenance is required.

    Baggage Handling System and Passenger Boarding Bridge experience also required.

    Skilled with Customer Service and Personnel Resources Management.

    Knowledge of safety and security issues related is aviation management is a plus.

    Ability to read blueprints, familiarity with commercial construction, and experience with vendor management is critical.

    Union work experience preferred.

    Hands on management of inventory management systems essential.

    Educational Background

    BA/BS in Aviation Management or related field
