Help Build Airports. We have an exciting dynamic opportunity for a Financial Controls professional to join our team working at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on a variety of modernization programs at the airport.
Position Overview
As the Project Controls Manager you will have primary responsibility for the full range of financial and document controls for several different projects. Your day-to-day activities will include invoice processing, loan borrowing, budget management and project reporting. In performing this work, you'll work with other AvAirPros professionals, consultants and sub-consultants, contractors, and clients to drive the financial success of several, major capital projects. To be the successful candidate, you'll need to possess the ability to understand and process data from a variety of sources, and the capacity to communicate clearly about the projects and the Controls Manager’s work. You'll also be really really good with Excel. You can expect to work in office settings, on construction sites, and throughout bustling terminals. Compiling, tracking, and transmitting project-related documents and well as maintaining the project file system
Reviewing and processing contractor and consultant invoices and making recommendations for payment processing
Overseeing borrowing and contract compliance for large, project-specific loans
Creating and maintaining financial models that track and allocate project costs across multiple activities and cost centers
Preparing budgets, forecasts, cash flows, financial reports, and other financial projections
Preparing memos, reports, briefings, and other deliverables that include complex spreadsheets, graphs, charts and tables
Assisting in selecting vendors, tracking and reporting progress, processing change orders, managing project logistics and phasing, developing and completing punch lists, and reviewing close out documents
Developing and publishing regular project progress reports
Managing financial closeout and acquisition of project assets
What you've done so far:
3+ years of experience with either a construction firm or commercial airport or airline
Mastered Microsoft Excel; proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher also necessary
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Proven yourself as a confident self-starter with an attention to detail and ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Demonstrated the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and produce project deliverables
Become skillful at building and sustaining relationships with team members, contractors, consultants and clients
How you built your foundation:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Project Management certification is a plus
Able to successfully pass a background check conducted by the Airport Authority to receive Security and Customs clearance
