Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Project Controls Manager for our Los Angeles, California office. This position will participate in major airline facility development projects and will support senior project managers and program management activities. The Project Controls Manager will be part of the Program leadership teams with direct responsibilities that include strategic and financial planning, cost controls, auditing, financial analysis and reporting. The current opening is for a Project Controls Manager on the Terminal 4/5 Program for American Airlines.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flows, financial reports, and other financial projections

Create and maintain financial models that track and allocate costs across multiple cost centers

Prepare and track acquisition packages for reimbursement

Develop regular progress reports for senior leaders from the airport, airline and project management team

Demonstrate professional acumen in executive level settings

Administer a Cost Management System

Develop and manage implementation of project controls processes

Analyze various business case scenarios and provide recommendations based on financial analyses

Coordinate with Internal Audit

Prepare memos, reports, briefings, proposals and other client deliverables that include spreadsheets, complex graphs, charts and tables

Provide oversight of vendor selection, progress of contractors, progress reports, change orders, completion of punch lists, project completion and review of close out documents

Provide direct oversight of the review and processing of invoices

Skills and Experience

3-7 years of work experience in Project Controls, Finance or Accounting

Physical ability to conduct regular site walks

Experience working for or with a Construction Manager or General Contractor

Excel at working collaboratively with clients, contractors, architects, and other industry professionals

Leadership and problem solving skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

The ability to be self-directed, self-motivating, and self-disciplined

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience in negotiating, planning, and executing projects on aggressive schedules preferred

Experience in engineering, construction, and/or architecture preferred

Experience working with the airline industry preferred

Extensive knowledge of development and construction of complex multi-year public works projects preferred

Qualifications

B.S. in related subjects required

B.S. in Business/Finance or Project Management preferred
