Position Description:

AVA Labs is seeking a DevOps engineer to create and maintain our development pipeline and testing infrastructure. A candidate should be able to spearhead efforts to increase developer productivity, product quality, and software deployment support across multiple cloud platforms and consumer operating systems. A DevOps engineer at AVA Labs will have opportunities to build automation pipelines across systems in a way rarely seen at most companies. Our client node software will one day work across several variants of Linux, Windows 10, OSX, iOS, and Android as well as IoT devices. It will support multiple cloud environments in a global development node network used to test these integrations. The ideal candidate can plan, design, and create the CI/CD infrastructure to automate the deployment of our product to the world. Leadership will be key as this role will eventually require building a team to support the continued growth of this infrastructure. 

Responsibilities:

• Create and lead initiatives to improve build and deployment processes.
• Work closely with the different protocol development teams to bring their software into the continuous integration pipeline.
• Build out frameworks and procedures to streamline the build and release.
• Develop test network infrastructures with a global presence.
• Ensure best practices for quality coverage, setting measurable targets for engineering teams prior to build releases.
• Starting with one supported operating system, continue to push the releases to support a larger variety of system architectures and operating systems.

Requirements:

• Passion for distributed system and scalable solutions.
• Knowledge of decentralized architecture design patterns.
• 4+ years of experience in cloud networking and orchestration using AWS (Azure or Google Cloud is a plus).
• 2+ years building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Travis-CI, or Bamboo.
• 2+ years of experience with two of the following configuration managers or orchestration managers: Ansible, Chef, Saltstack, Fabric, Puppet, Terraform.
• Proven experience integrating mobile into the CI/CD pipeline.
• A 4-year degree in an IT, Computer Science, or Information Systems degree or 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
