    Job Description

    The objective of this position is to ensure overall satisfaction and ultimately exceed the expectations of our customers by providing the utmost operational and in sales, customer service. These services range from the shipment implementation through delivery confirmation and final Invoicing.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Implement all movements on shipment awards.  This includes vendor bookings, documentation preparation, en-route security monitoring, delivery confirmation, customer communication throughout shipment process, proactive but conservative decision making and ability to troubleshoot in emergency situations and prevention of potential conflicts/issues prevention.
    • International coordination and communication with related clients, partners and office
    • Provide great customer service - exhibit positive, friendly attitude and proactive communication with all clients, vendors and AVA offices, being the brand ambassador representing the business at all times.
    • Direct and manage workflow involving preparation of quotation, creating of jobs, customer and vendor updates, as well as cost control and customer invoicing.
    • Support in new vendor / client management for new and current business.
    • Communicate sales and vendor service issues to appropriate manager.
    • Uphold the integrity of database vendor costs and information.  Amend database information where applicable.
    • Special projects, reports and on call hours as assigned by direct manager.
    • Take action as per company policies, SOP´s and always behave appropriate.

    SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Educated to graduate level or A level
    • At least 3-5 years’ experience occupying a similar role, overseeing and managing the shipping process
    • Proven track record in a customer facing operation in a global environment, ideally in the service sector of the Americas market
    • Strong communications skills with an excellent command of English and Spanish
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
    • Knowledge of freight forwarding software such as Cargowise would be preferred
