Stamford Hospital is looking for experienced ICU RN’s seeking a full-time position within the Intensive Care Unit. Our level II trauma hospital has one all-encompassing 20 Bed ICU which receives all types of patients – medical, surgical, trauma, open heart, etc. and is a great place to professionally grow your critical care nursing skills! In this role, the RN will coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and following all established standards of practice within State and Federal guidelines. Provide supervision of non-RN personnel and act as a resource for ancillary staff on assigned unit. Supervise unit activities when assigned to charge or clinical coordinator role. Act as preceptor to new staff and/or students as requested. Adhere to all Stamford Hospital’s policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program. Provide safe and therapeutic care using the values inherent in our hospital culture.
Minimum 1-2 years nursing experience in an ICU or critical care setting required. Nurse/patient ratio 1:2 or 1:1 based on acuity. Job details include closely monitoring high acuity patients with various diagnoses. We are looking for a candidate who can competently care for patients on a ventilator, status post cardiac arrest, STEMI’s, balloon pumps, CVA, post craniotomy, post trauma, post thrombectomy, post neuro procedures, post open-heart surgery, etc.

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
BSN strongly preferred.
BLS certification required.
Maintain minimum of 6 contact hours annually.
Minimum of 1-2 years acute nursing experience; critical care/neuro/open heart highly preferred
