The DRAFTER/CAD LL OPERATOR will use conventional drafting and AutoCAD techniques to perform drafting work manually or using a computer, that will require knowledge and skill in drafting methods, procedures, and techniques to prepare drawings of structures, facilities, land profiles, water systems, mechanical and electrical equipment, pipelines, duck systems, and similar equipment, systems, and assemblies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assignments require arithmetic computations using standard formulas to draw out land contours or to compute weights, center of gravity, load capacities, dimensions, quantities of material, etc.
- Familiar or recurring work will be assigned in general terms.
- Operator will work on unfamiliar assignments that will include information on methods, procedures, sources of information, and precedents to follow.
- Will be responsible for simple revisions to existing drawings, computer models that can be assigned with a verbal explanation of the desired results.
- Work on complex revisions produced from sketches, computer models or specifications that clearly depict the desired product.
- Prepare and revise detail and design drawings.
- Update and maintain database for schematic and wiring drawings.
- Continually update and utilize the latest version of AutoCAD software and ACADWAPA.
- Maintain open communications with engineers, craftsman, and electricians.
- Operate reproduction equipment and distribute hard copies of drawings to engineering and Operations/Maintenance staff.
- Answer direct incoming calls
Required Skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of Drafter/AutoCAD Operator experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and AutoCAD.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to pass a Government background check.
