· Performs complex logistics support analyses.
· Analyzes complex contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts to determine spares provisioning or maintenance/repair requirements.
· Identifies, prioritizes, and assesses key logistics assets and infrastructures.
· Develops logistics plans in order to enhance distribution of assets.
· Coordinates some logistics elements, including but not limited to spares, support equipment, training, facilities, technical data, and provisioning.
· Controls the flow of assets, services, and information between point of origin through receipt in order to meet customer requirements.
· Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of logistics processes.
· Develops policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.
· Builds relationships with suppliers and customers through the resolution of issues.
· Work with engineering staff to understand the parts that are needed. Identify alternate sources when needed.
· Solicit quotes and manage delivery schedules to ensure that materials arrive on time and comply with engineering requirements.
· Provide support to Engineering, Quality, Operations and accounting departments as needed.
· Utilize lean manufacturing principles and process improvement techniques to increase efficiency and reduce waste throughout the procurement processes.
· Responsible for tracking all inventory for the program.
