  • Responsibilities

    Technical aspects of the position include; creating, editing, and retiring road centerlines as well as the associated road characteristics, using ArcGIS querying techniques to validate data, find errant coding, and create ad hoc reports.

    Essential non-technical skill requirements include; the ability to understand legal references and the nuances thereof, critical reading skills, excellent speaking and writing skills - as the position may be called upon to communicate and coordinate with local governmental officials in an effort to validate and verify data.

    The ideal candidate will; 1) possess an extensive working knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS 10.x Desktop software suite, 2) have a solid background in general GIS principles/concepts, 3) have an understanding, or awareness, of transportation related issues (e.g. linear referencing, networking, routing), 4) should be detail-oriented, 5) be able to coordinate, plan, and support simultaneous projects

    Required qualifications include completion or near completion (in process) four-year college degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field, and proficiency with the ArcGIS 10.x Desktop software suite. Preferred qualifications include experience with a city or county government agency, a state or local department of transportation, and/or an engineering firm.
