    POSITION OVERVIEW

    We are currently looking for an Automation Engineer who's main focus will be on:

    • Development and improvement of the automation systems within SPS and visualization;
    • Working on engineering projects within the Nienburg site, but also other facilities across the region as needed;
    • Definition of engineering standards for the plant or across the region;
    • Advising and supporting non-engineering staff or other EIMEA facilities on technical topics;
    • Focus on electrical Systems and control systems including software and hardware;
    • Support the ISO 50001 Energy Management System for Nienburg.

    PRIMARY DUTIES

    • Support the engineering team in projects and process improvements.
    • Work with external equipment suppliers, complete technical specifications and obtain quotes.
    • Supervise and coordinate external programmer and electrician for projects, daily business and maintenance.
    • Start-up of new equipment and production lines, including training of production staff, with special focus on safe operation.
    • Participating in hazard studies (PSM, safety checks, inspections, MOC).
    • Support the engineering team in preparation of engineering project proposals and capital expenditure requests.

    Required Experience

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Technical/Engineering degree with focus on electrical systems and process automation; • Level of education: Dipl/Ing, Master or Bachelor Degree • Strong experience in programming and software engineering; • min. 3 – 5 years’ experience in engineering; • Good experience in Siemens S7 (classic and TIA-Portal, WinCC, and Wonderware (preferable); • Project Management experience would be an asset • Ability to work independently; • Good team worker with high communication skills, ability to enthuse others and drive demanding projects; • Good spoken & written English and German language capability; • Previous experience in chemical industry ideal, possibly plastic processing industry, either work experience or internships; • Willingness to travel 30% of time, during start-up of production lines; • Good computer skills, MS Office and e.g. MS Project; • Basic knowledge/experience in CAD systems.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree in Engineering related discipline, preferably electrical Engineering with focus on automation or technical computer Science with focus on automation; • Technical apprenticeship degree desirable; • Track record of success for various substantial projects.
