POSITION SUMMARY:  

Working closely with the Program Coordinator, the teacher is responsible for increasing the academic achievement of 10-15 elementary, middle or high school age after-school students by effectively engaging students in learning utilizing research-based curriculum. The teacher will be responsible for planning and carrying out lesson plans that meet the individual needs of the students and the overall goals of the program. S/he will meet regularly and plan with the Site Director and Academic Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Provide engaging lessons that help students master academic skills and meet program goals.
• Complete and implement lesson plans.
• Communicate regularly with academic coordinator and site director.
• Complete reports and provides data as required by the Academic Coordinator.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Stand or walk for extended periods of time.  Ascend and descend steps.

Required Experience

• Experience teaching SAT Prep courses
• Current teacher certification preferred.
• Experience with classroom management.
