ABOUT YOU:

As a senior flavorist savory foods you will join our creative and international flavorist team and report to the Technical Director C&A, Innovation Savory Foods EAME.

You will be a key contributor to the team and will work on reactive projects for the whole EAME region with a focus on Western European Global, Coordinated and Regional Savory Food clients which do represent the market leader in their segments.

After an introduction phase you can become a member (ambassador) of one of our Innovation Program´s Culinary, Modulation, Natural, Protein or Delivery.

To be successful in this role you have a minimum of 10 years international experience in flavor creation within the food or ingredient industry. You are an expert in top note and full pyramid creation of chicken, beef, meat, vegetable, umami and salt modulation. You understand regional taste differences & preferences.

You will need to demonstrate leadership role in creation projects - regional/global and the ability to build solid relationships across the entire IFF organization. Working in a team environment, IFF will be looking for you to drive innovation and creativity, hereby assisting our customers to enhance their existing product line and successfully launch new products in the marketplace.

You have a four year degree ( BS/BA) in science (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences etc.) Preferred is  a Master degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Food Engineering and/or Chemistry Engineering

YOU WILL SPEND YOUR TIME…

• Independently developing flavors in line with business need & in response to customer brief & strategic priorities.
• Interacting with key customers regionally or globally to understand requirements & build solid relationships
• Demonstrating creative leadership in working with global R&D to maximize IFF technology & innovative practices.
• Utilize IFF technology to deliver unique solutions to the marketplace
• Participating in development programmes for both trainee & junior flavorists.
• Scouting new ingredients and suppliers.

The position is located in our Center of Expertise for Savory Foods in Hilversum, the Netherlands.

Required Experience

• Completed qualifying flavorist training Program and/or proven track record at equivalent level with competitor
• Extensive knowledge of raw materials and flavor ingredients, flavor formulations, solvent and carrier systems, delivery systems, analytical methodologies and regulatory requirements
• Expert tasting skills and the ability to create and adjust flavor formulations that meet the taste requirements of customers and consumers
