    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Director of Operations (DoO) shall be responsible for supporting the Subsidiary President by analyzing and improving operational processes individually and through the management of subordinate managers. The DoO shall review performance, productivity and efficiency of Operations Managers, as well as the performance and profitability of their assigned projects. The DoO will offer solutions/ recommendations for ways to improve in all functional areas. The DoO will also support an individual portfolio that includes various Federal Contracts.

    PRIMARY/MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

    • Evaluate financial and operational information for projects to identify issues and barriers for corrective action, through utilization of operating process, daily management reports, dashboards, and monthly financial reports.
    • Monitor project performance against strategic plans and contract requirements; providing coaching and direction to subordinate managers; and otherwise providing leadership toward success.
    • Support project budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing activities, overseeing subordinate managers with P&L responsibility. Submit to president, accurate reports on progress made and challenges encountered.
    • Develop and promote strong customer relationships through the execution, performance and quality of work provided from subsidiary operations to end customers.
    • Support implementation of subsidiary/company policy, planning, and strategy decisions.
    • Manage quality assurance and integrity of programs and subsidiary projects to include meaningful participation in employee relations matters and investigations as required.
    • Identify and address problems and opportunities for subsidiary projects.
    • Provide direction, leadership and opportunity for development to direct report employees.
    • Continually investigate and introduce process improvement measures.
    • Support program manager/subordinate communication with the management team.
    • Assist program managers with oversight of direct/indirect employees/contractors.
    • Support strategic business development and proposal activities.
    • Communicate progress and budget reports, goals, and risks to subsidiary president.

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum 5+ years of proven experience working for government contractors, of which several years are as a manager for a Division, Operating Group, or large project.
    • Possess an understanding of government contracts and doing business within the federal government sector throughout the US and Internationally.
    • Must be a strong and agile leader with proven ability to work effectively across multiple projects.
    • Active Secret Government Security Clearance
    • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Power Point, Excel); ability to create and edit high quality written deliverables
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills and out of the box thinking
    • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
    • Ability to respond to and interact appropriately with coworkers, supervisors, and other management staff
    • Ability to write effectively and accurately to prepare reports and express relevant information clearly, concisely, and persuasively
    • Ability to work effectively as a team member, organize work and time, work well in stressful situations, be self-motivated, establish priorities, and meet deadlines
    • Ability to reason logically, exercise good judgment, formulate logical conclusions, and record supportive background data used in decision-making
    • Commitment to providing outstanding, positive, quality customer service, including maintaining confidentiality
